Richard Fleek, a Navy veteran and IT analyst, has dedicated 16 years to our organization, drawing on the resilience shaped by his six years of military service. Inspired by his veteran grandfathers, Rich enlisted in the Navy at 18, traveling across four continents and gaining a global perspective that shaped his life.
After completing his military career, Rich faced challenges of transitioning to civilian life but found purpose through community service. He became actively involved with the American Legion, where his efforts helped pass legislation to ensure proper burials for unclaimed veterans, earning him "Veteran of the Year" recognition in Dearborn, Michigan.
Rich's dedication continues with Minutes Wisely, a nonprofit that creates memorable experiences for veteran’s while also focusing on suicide prevention. He also connects with veterans through his podcast, The Scuttlebutt Podcast (TSP), where he shares stories and advice, and through his cookbook, From Sailor to Backyard Cook, which features recipes and inspiring quotes from veterans. Rich’s journey exemplifies a commitment to service, inspiring others to make a lasting impact beyond the uniform. We are proud to have him as part of our AUTOKINITON team.
